Can someone tell more about this thing in air filter box intake?

Is it fore some special sound ore what? Do it makes difference fore motorcycle?

The noise may be caused by worn bearing, or dynamo sometimes makes similar noises. Or maybe they just were not able to record the engine sound properly at the time. [Knoxville] (9.1.2016 21:14:44)

That weird whistle noise makes in my opinion something in the engine, probably piston pins or some bearings. I don´t think, you can purposely imitate it. Remember, that the noise in the film could be distorted. [Ota] (9.1.2016 20:11:42)

Then what makes this weird whistle noise?
I have heard that first model of jawa 634-01 (from 1974, 1975 http://avtobike.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Jawa-634-1974Type.jpg ) (in soviet union model) there was something what makes different sound of engine - I thought it was this little thing in air filter intake !!!
But is it truth?

If you can, throw this thing away (it needs some force to grap). Purpose was reduce noise from 86 dB to 84 dB, but in fact, the difference is insignificant. Increase in performance is also small, but it is.

With reduction the main jet is 92 (or 88, 95, 98, depending on country to export), without 115 (or 112). You have main jet for intake without this restriction. [Stíví] (9.1.2016 15:24:49)

The thing is that if you remove air intake reduction it will get more air than before and air/fuel ratio will change. It will be too lean mixture (more air and less fuel) so your engine can seize because of poor lubrication and cooling. The micture has to be balanced (14:1) and that is why you need to adjust the main jet.

Unfortunately I dont know what is the perfect value of main jet for this setup. But my guess is that 115 is fine. Better wait for someone to confirm this.

This is a kind of engine sound reduction. It also reduces engine power. The best thing you can do, is throw it away.
Which type of motorcycle do you have? If you put out sound reduction labyrinth, you should have probably to exchange main jet in the carburettor. [Ota] (9.1.2016 14:04:37)
